Adventures of frog and toad
The Frog and Toad Treasury: Frog and Toad are Friends/Frog and Toad Together/Frog and Toad All Year by Arnold LobelWhy do I love Frog and Toad? Im not really sure. Not much really happens in these stories. The illustrations are beautiful but rather small. The eponymous friends carry on their friendship through mild misunderstandings and misadventures, always ready to forgive each other and forget. These gentle stories are among my favorite kids books. I have fond memories of Frog and Toad from my childhood, and I never tire of re-reading them to my 4-year-old daughter. She seems to like them, too.
Frog and Toad Are Friends
Book Review: Adventures of Frog and Toad
Millennials are so frequently hyped as the first digital generation that people tend to forget that we were raised first and foremost with books. TV and the Internet may have shaped our identities, but so did old-fashioned, printed stories. Frog and Toad, two very different characters, make something of an odd couple. Their friendship demonstrates the many ups and downs of human attachment, touching on deep truths about life, philosophy, and human nature in the process. Their various struggles might involve deciding whether to stay in or go out, the difficulty of restraint when it comes to cookies, and the challenge of adhering to a daily to-do-list. Frog represents the practical and sensible part of the self, while Toad is emotional and tempestuous. I wanted to think about how fine everything is.

Arnold Lobel. Adventures of Frog and Toad.
Frog and Toad are the main characters in a series of easy-reader children's books , written and illustrated by Arnold Lobel who also wrote Mouse Soup. Each book contains five simple, often humorous, sometimes poignant, short stories chronicling the exploits of a frog and his friend, a toad. Some of their adventures include attempting to fly a kite, cleaning Toad's dirty house instead of postponing the chores to the next day, and finding out different reasons for isolation. Frog is taller with a green shade, and is more cheery and relaxed than Toad; Toad is shorter and stout with a brown shade, and while just as caring and friendly as Frog, is also the more serious and uptight of the duo. In , three of Arnold Lobel's uncolored, unpublished Frog and Toad books were discovered in an estate sale.
