For most of her nursing career, she has worked part time as a staff nurse in an emergency department, as well as working full time as Nursing Education Faculty at Wesley-Passavant School of Nursing, Chicago State University, and Purdue University. She holds a Master's Degree in Nursing and has worked in critical care for the majority of her career. In addition to teaching, she currently works in critical care at the University of Chicago Hospitals. Over the course of her career, she has received multiple awards and published numerous refereed articles and book chapters.
