History Of Static Shock!

Forget the Arrowverse, ‘Black Lightning’ Could Start a New Lightningverse

Is Black Lightning paving the way for a live-action version of Static Shock? The first season of Black Lightning saw Jefferson Pierce coming out of retirement as a vigilante to deal with the scourge of a new street drug called Green Light. The events of the season revealed that Green Light was a refined version of a drug created by the government, which had originally been given to inner-city youths in the form of a vaccine, as a means of creating super-powered soldiers. Jefferson discovered that his powers were a result of this program and that the government had taken dozens of kids who developed powers and put them into cryogenic suspension while testing them. Comics fans noted that this means of explaining Black Lighting's powers bore a strong resemblance to how the first super-powered people were created in the world of Milestone Comics.

Well, success has been achieved. The announcement of a second season of Black Lightning was made in early May, well before the first season was complete. It would seem the time is right for Akil to get his wish. Originally named Static, he was created in by Milestone Media, an independent DC imprint focused on creating necessary diversity in the comic world. He was picked on and bullied, and ended up in a bit of a gang war.

Hello Aminoers Batpool here!!!! Today in gonna talk about something I thought when I was a beginner comic book reader many years ago and I thought it was the perfect timing since I just finally got to read Black Lightning Year One. Today I'm going to say why I used to and why many beginners still think so. Now when I was younger I did not know that Milestone existed. Milestone was a separate universe from DC that contained its own unique set of stories and metahumans. Now I knew Static was in the comics and he was in the show but when I looked in my DC comics encyclopedia it only had black lightning.

How would Static Shock slide through?

Static is a fictional superhero appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. Virgil Ovid Hawkins is a member of a fictional subspecies of humans with superhuman abilities known as metahumans. Not born with his powers, Hawkins' abilities develop after an incident exposes him to a radioactive chemical. This event renders him capable of electromagnetic control and generation. The character drew much inspiration and was in fact designed to represent a modern-era Spider-Man archetype. A common misconception is that Hawkins is the son of fellow DC Comics superhero Black Lightning , who debuted much earlier and possesses electrical abilities.

Though it's not part of the Arrowverse, The CW's Black Lightning has proven to be a hit in its own right, both critically and with fans. After all, he'll need all the help he can get to save Freeland. That said, Akil has made his passion for Static quite clear. With these powers, he became Static and protected the city of Dakota from others known as Bang Babies who also gained powers during the incident. Gambi, a former scout for these metahumans, is now atoning for his past and trying to help Jefferson find and free these kids that have been missing for almost 30 years. With kids still being snatched, Static could easily be introduced as one of the teens-turned-metahumans that Jefferson and Gambi rescue.
