The 13 Best Men’s Style Books

View Larger Image. Hardbound in black cloth, dust jacket. Very good; minimal shelf wear, mainly to corners and head and base of spine, internally clean with no inscriptions. A very good copy of this scarce definitive work on the subject of men's fashion. It is a fully comprehensive survey, with in-depth text and numerous illustrations and archival images. Part One traces the era of tails and the frock coat, the emergence of the pantaloon and the influence of Anglomania on European fashion. Part Three introduces the aesthetic of the sweater and the variations on the suit and vest as part of the post-World War I moral liberation and economic euphoria, and traces changes all the way through to the New Deal and the new American elegance.

A good sense of fashion is one of the pieces that make an ideal man, and there is much to be said about this subject. Whether you want to redesign your look completely, acquire a few tips here and there to spruce up your image, or are looking to buy a meaningful present for your worse half, you came to the right place. This list combines both modern and old-school styles, and you will surely find something interesting. But, clothes are not everything. We aim for this list to be all-encompassing. As such, books on mannerisms, different styles of grooming, and even tattoos will be covered.

Even in an age where we read everything off the devices in our hands, people use books as a gauge of who you are. A girl is always going to be more impressed by a book in your apartment than the website you want her to read on your phone. Books symbolise an intellectual and sophisticated person and these style books will help you dress the part too. You may think you know what to avoid but guaranteed there are some mistakes you let slip in. More importantly though, they will make you a master on the fashion rules like how to wear a suit and how to dress for the occasion. Rules are made to be broken though, for instance did you know that sneakers are no longer just for the gym?

We often get asked: what books do you recommend for someone like me? As you can imagine, it all depends on you: your needs, your taste, your budget, your preference…. Not every book is good for everybody, except our must-haves. For nice to have or niche books , we try to explain who the book is for. To facilitate the process of finding the right book for you, I created a table with the titles that contains just the basic information.
