Grace, get out of the car!

This left her with diagnosed brain damage and was close to death. In a recent episode, Grace had a tonic clonic seizure shown to millions of viewers. Head injuries can be a cause of epilepsy and can be diagnosed some time after the injury occurred. As families go, Connie Beauchamp, her ex Sam Strachan and their daughter Grace have had a hellish time of it. After months of domestic difficulty Connie Amanda Mealing is looking forward to a more harmonious home front when Casualty returns for a new series this week. Why does Connie believe a new era of domestic happiness is dawning for her, Grace and Sam? Grace had been living with Sam, and Connie wanted her home with her again. But when Connie had another day from hell in the ED Grace very maturely said she was going to stay with her dad.

Connie originally took care of Grace until when she moved to New York to live with her father. However, she returned with him in when he was in the UK at a conference involving cardiothoracics. Grace formerly attended Holby Grammar School. Despite being demanding of her mother's attention, it's simply a result of Connie prioritising her career. In August Grace was involved in a severe car crash which left her in a coma for six weeks. Her recovery took around a year, and she was able to walk unaided by July the following year. A month after this, she returned to the US with Sam.

Talk about a Casualty cliffhanger! The dramatic moment followed a difficult day for Connie, as she'd been forced to deal with a case that was way too close to home. When Grace's friend Carmel was admitted to hospital following an accident on a trampoline, some disturbing facts began to emerge as the youngster was found to have nasty scratches on her stomach.
