Tongues: Beyond the Upper Room by Kenneth E. Hagin

This book is by far the best book that I have read on the subject. For anyone that has ever had doubts, or thought that the whole aspect of speaking in tongues was creepy, or nursed any number of other similar misconceptions, this book is for you. Rev. Kenneth E Hagin (who is in his eternal home now) lays down a sound biblical basis for the incredible power and merits of praying in other tongues.
I would highly recommend it for every born again Christian, and the curious, of course! I am so glad that I own this copy because I can see myself return to it often to remind myself of the lessons I learned here.

By Rev. Kenneth E. The purpose of this particular article is to briefly set forth seven reasons why every Christian should speak in tongues and to help believers see the blessings that can be theirs through daily appropriating the power of the Holy Spirit in their lives. The Word of God teaches that when we are filled with the Holy Ghost, we speak with other tongues as the Spirit of God gives utterance. Paul encouraged the Corinthian Christians to continue the practice of speaking with other tongues in their worship of God. He also encouraged them to speak in tongues in their individual prayer life as a means of spiritual edification, or building up. When you pray in tongues, your spirit is in direct contact with God, who is a Spirit.

Some people like to jump in and get all the gifts of the Spirit at once. But you have to go through the door to get into the supernatural. God in tongues—the more the other gifts of the Spirit manifest.
