Jane Yellowrock is the central character in a series of urban fantasy novels by American author Faith Hunter. Jane Yellowrock is the last of the skinwalkers — a Cherokee who can shift into any creature she wishes. She uses her powers in order to fight and kill vampires. Faith Hunter began her Jane Yellowrock series in with the novel Skinwalker. There are also two short story collections thus far in the series. The collection also includes the first three chapters of the novel Raven Cursed. All of the stories except for Signatures of the Dead have before been published, while Signatures of the Dead has appeared in the anthology Strange Brew.

Gwendolyn Faith Hunter is an American author and blogger , writing in the fantasy and thriller genres. She writes as Faith Hunter in the fantasy genre, and as Gwen Hunter in the thriller genre. Hunter is one of the founding members of the blog, MagicalWords. Hunter grew up in the Louisiana bayou country and began writing during high school. She graduated from college with a degree in Allied Health Technology and used to work full-time in a rural hospital.
