The Last four authors are Christians who write books appropriate for upper level High School and adult. Bible — Any book in the Bible that is 25 chapters or more. As students reach the middle and high school reading levels, language, violence and romantic entanglements can become problematic for teachers, parents, and students. Explicitness — Is the representation of evil, if purposeful, present in an acceptable degree? Or is it more conspicuous or vivid than the purpose warrants? Is the censorable material too potent to serve well as a negative example? Moral tone — is evil presented from a condemning perspective?

We encourage our students to practice their reading skills throughout the summer so as not to lose the valuable reading skills gained. We have compiled a list of suggested reading books for summer reading. Students may choose books from the grade they are entering or the grade they have completed. Students who achieve their goal will be recognized with a certificate when we return to school in September. Below is a list of suggested books for each grade.
