Red line in the sand
A Line in the Sand by Gerald SeymourI really enjoy reading these thrillers by Gerald Seymour. He always manages to deliver a tautly woven, well plotted story. This book in particular had a bit more emotional impact than is usually found in these thrillers. I felt a bit flattened after finishing this. What does stand out to me is the ambiguity of the characters presented here. There isnt any black or white, just shades of murky grey.
My only gripe here is that the story did take a while to gather momentum before it really hit its stride. It was also insightful to catch up on the famous Cathy Parker from Seymours very excellent Field of Blood. An excellent thriller with a bit more emotional depth than expected.

Later, Assad again used chemical weapons, and Obama opted to have Russia step in to remove them. In late September , Russia deployed its air force and military advisers to bolster Assad in Syria. Iran then stepped up its support for the regime and the tide on the battlefield turned against the rebels Obama had supported with arms transfers and training.
