Biggest twins in the world
Four Seasons in Rome: On Twins, Insomnia, and the Biggest Funeral in the History of the World by Anthony DoerrAfter finishing All the Light We Cannot See, I’ll confess I was a bit addicted to Doerr’s lovely writing. Since we were about to take a trip to Rome, I thought I would pick up this travelogue about Doerr’s year in Rome as a creative writing resident. He describes the city with love and nostalgia, capturing Rome at its funniest and most breathtaking. It’s difficult to say something new about a city that has captured imaginations for millennia, but Doerr manages to do so in this story of an Idaho couple with two toddlers who are thrust into Rome for a year. Again, this is a book you read for the writing. Doerr really knows how to craft a scene and turn a phrase.

Alanna Merrie, 33, is still recovering after giving birth to her twin baby boys on November 4 with husband Paul by her side. Enormous baby brothers Troy and Kaius arrived via caesarean section and astonished midwives at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary with their combined weight of 16lb 13oz. They weighed 8lb 12oz and 8lb 1oz respectively, and are thought to be the heaviest twins ever born in Scotland. Alanna, a student doctor, said: "The staff at the hospital were saying to me that they have never delivered twins this big before. I did have a huge bump, though, and total strangers kept coming up to me asking whether I was going to give birth on the spot as I was that big. During her pregnancy, Alanna went for regular check-ups which revealed the babies were slightly larger than normal. The arrival of the twins is particularly poignant for the couple, whose first daughter Aubyn died a few days after she was born.
Born in Hendersonville, North Carolina , the twins began using the stage name McGuire, as it was easier for ring announcers to pronounce; they gained popularity as tag team wrestlers and in carnival stunt shows. The twins would often use a finishing move called the "Tupelo Splash", which involved one of the twins diving belly-first onto a prone oppenent; they would follow this with "The Steamroller", where the twin would roll back and forward over the oppenent, supposedly imitating the action of a rolling pin flattening dough. Their grave is marked by a foot wide granite headstone, which is believed to be the largest in the world. From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. Professional wrestling tag team.
