The Last of Us Review
The Last of Us Remastered review
It came packaged with fantastic puzzle design, crunchy combat and an unforgettable narrative that is often brought up when debating the best video game stories ever written. Instead, it chose to tell a heartbreaking story about surviving in the grim reality of a post-apocalypse. For this reason and many others, it has become iconic, influencing a host of games that came after it in a multitude of genres. Clearly, Naughty Dog learned a lot of lessons from The Last of Us and applied them here to weave emotion into the narrative, which deals with growing up, settling down and the tenuous bonds of family. A bombastic sayonara that takes the player from Scotland to the lost city of Libertalia, if you want action Uncharted 4 has got it in droves, with the inclusion of the grappling hook invigorating the clever combat. The story is centred around mourning and grief and shares a kinship with The Last of Us despite being totally different, gameplay-wise. If you missed it back in , the game is headed to Switch on May 28, so you can check it out on the move.
Stealth and conserving supplies can be a part of survival horror. TLoU is kind of hard to pinpoint, it uses things from mutliple genres. Anyway.

The Last of Us: Remastered on PlayStation 4
The Last of Us is a third-person action-adventure survival horror video game created exclusively for PlayStation 3, and was later remastered for the PlayStation 4. The game was developed by a portion of the employees at Naughty Dog , while the other half of the company went to develop Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception ; established for the purpose of creating new intellectual property as well as continuing the Uncharted series simultaneously. Set in the post-apocalyptic United States, the game tells the story of survivors Joel and Ellie as they work together to survive their westward journey across what remains of the country to find a possible cure for the modern fungal plague that has nearly decimated the entire human race. On May 15, , The Last of Us had " gone gold ", meaning all development of the game had been completed and mass manufacturing had begun. The Last of Us was scheduled to be released on May 7, , but was pushed back to six weeks.
The music for the action-adventure survival horror video game The Last of Us , developed by Naughty Dog and published by Sony Computer Entertainment , was composed by musician Gustavo Santaolalla. Santaolalla, known for his minimalist approach to composing, was excited to work on the soundtrack due to the game's focus on the characters and story. He began composing the music early in the game's development , with few instructions from the development team on the tone that they intended. In collaboration with each other, the team and Santaolalla aimed to make the soundtrack emotional, as opposed to scary. Santaolalla used various instruments to compose the score, including some that were unfamiliar to him.
After years of bold claims from multiple parties, it could be argued that The Last of Us is the first truly mature interactive narrative in the action genre. And if you haven't had the joy of playing it on the PS3, the Remastered edition for the PS4 is something you need to experience straight away. Already familiar with The Last of Us?
