God punishes us for what we can t imagine
Quote by Albert Einstein: “I cannot imagine a God who rewards and punishes...”
Is Punishment a Gift from God?
In other words, our love for God is directly connected our forgiveness by God. So if we want to love God more and I do! Mercy is NOT receiving what we do deserve. We must reckon with the depth of our depravity if we want to understand the glorious mercy of God. Ephesians tells us just how deep and dark our sins against God are:. And you were dead in the trespasses and sins in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience—among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind. We were dead in our transgressions and sins.
Loving God with all Our Mind
The short answer is no. Let me attempt to explain that answer. First, we need to understand that God cannot be defined, only experienced. Each person's experience of God varies, and people have a tendency to make their experience into a definition; that is simply poor theology. Second, we need to find a theological expression of God that befits the experience of many of the world's greatest religious leaders, among whom we Christians number Jesus.
