The Love You Make: An Insiders Story of the Beatles by Peter Brown

Here is the national bestseller that Newsday called “the most authoritative and candid look yet at the personal lives…of the oft-scrutinized group.” In The Love You Make, Peter Brown, a close friend of and business manager for the band—and the best man at John and Yoko’s wedding—presents a complete look at the dramatic offstage odyssey of the four lads from Liverpool who established the greatest music phenomenon of the twentieth century. Written with the full cooperation of each of the group’s members and their intimates, this book tells the inside story of the music and the madness, the feuds and the drugs, the marriages and the affairs—from the greatest heights to the self-destructive depths of the Fab Four.

In-depth and definitive, The Love You Make is an astonishing account of four men who transformed the way a whole generation of young people thought and lived. It reigns as the most comprehensive, revealing biography available of John, Paul, George, and Ringo.

The Beatles - If I fell / If I feel [Lyrics] - Paul Moody cover

Hey, our system thinks you're a bot.

The scene takes place while the crew are setting up equipment prior to The Beatles' 'studio performance'. Amusingly, Lennon sings the love song to Starr. The song became a part of The Beatles' live repertoire in As the only ballad performed by the group at the time, it often suffered for their inability to hear themselves above the screams of Beatlemaniacs. The live versions were typically faster than the studio recording. Bootleg recordings also often show Lennon and McCartney vainly attempting to suppress laughter while singing the song — occasionally it was jokingly introduced as If I Fell Over.

The songs of the British rock group the Beatles are known for their vitality and variety, covering all genres of the day from pop ballads to hard rock to acid rock to Indian ragas to basic rock'n'roll. They wrote some astounding love songs, too, and here are some of the best. This was a double LP set and has never been subsequently re-issued on CD. Side One of that album kicks off with the first song on our list:. The best lines?

If I fell in love with you, would you promise to be true And help me understand 'Cos I've been in love before, and I found that love was more Than just holding hands. If I give my heart to you, I must be sure From the very start that you would love me more than her. If I trust in you, oh please, don't run and hide If I love you too, oh please, don't hurt my pride like her 'Cause I couldn't stand the pain And I would be sad if our new love was in vain. So I hope you see that I would love to love you And that she will cry when she learns we are two. If I fell in love with you, would you promise to be true And help me understand 'Cos I've been in love before, and I found that love was more Than just holding hands If I give my heart to you, I must be sure From the very start that you would love me more than her If I trust in you, oh please, don't run and hide If I love you too, oh please, don't hurt my pride like her 'Cause I couldn't stand the pain And I would be sad if our new love was in vain So I hope you see that I would love to love you And that she will cry when she learns we are two.

It shows that I wrote sentimental love ballads way back when", Lennon stated in his Playboy interview. Each verse preceding the B section or middle-eight has a slightly different ending which creates a seamless transition between the two. The demo version just John alone on acoustic guitar from early , does include the introduction, as well as an alternative ending.
you re a badass book review

Information

John Lennon - Paul McCartney. The innocence of 60's pop music was reflected in The Beatles' songwriting in the early 60's. Seeing an attractive girl from across the dance floor, having 'arms that long to hold her' and desiring to 'hold her hand' were all within the acceptable "bounds" of the pop music world at the time.

This song, composed by John Lennon, is one of my favourites from this period. In fact, in a interview Lennon claimed that it was his first attempt at writing a love ballad. If so, he did a pretty good job! If I give my heart to you I must be sure From the very start That you would love me more than her. I have a relatively rare single of this, pressed for the French market.
